LAKELAND, Fla. - Francis A. Foye Jr., 90, of Lakeland, formerly of Manchester, N.H., died July 23, 2014, after a period of declining health.

Born in Manchester, N.H., on June 9, 1924, he was the son of Francis and Margaret (Callahan) Foye Sr. He was educated in the local school system and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1942.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy prior to his honorable discharge in 1945. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star.
He had been employed by New England Telephone for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a life member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post 2 and the VFW.
Family members include his sons, Bruce Foye and Sandy of Lake Whales, Kevin Foye and wife Ginny of Hollis, N.H.; daughters-in-law, Karen and Mary Foye; a son-in-law, Roger Duclos; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, William Foye and wife Eleanor of Hooksett, N.H., Anthony Foye of Manchester, N.H., Edward Foye and wife Marlene of Hooksett, N.H., George Foye of Arizona, Catherine Mulroy and husband Lenny of Manchester, N.H.; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria (Bellerive) Foye, and two sons, Gary and Brian Foye. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (McGranaghan) Foye, and daughter Denise A. Duclos.
services: A calling hour at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., followed by a memorial Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in St. Pius X Church at 10 a.m. Urn burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
