MANCHESTER - Doris J. Harrington, 97, died Aug. 9, 2014, at the Mount Carmel Health Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born in Manchester on July 9, 1917, the daughter of Odore and Regina (Corriveau) Labore and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by J.J. Moreau's as a buyer for 30 years. She had been a volunteer at the Catholic Medical Center for more than 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis P. Harrington, in 1977 and a son, Richard Harrington, in 1970.
She enjoyed traveling. She had a positive attitude and kindness about her. She had a great sense of humor and a welcoming spirit. Her door was always open. Her family was her life.
Members of her family include two sons, Paul Harrington and his wife, Deborah of Manchester, Robert Harrington and his wife, Judy of Manchester; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Pedrick of Pembroke; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by three siblings, Walter and Gerald Labore and Florette Doepker.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 223 So. Main St.
Committal prayers will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
