MANCHESTER - John S. Kanlis, 72, of Hooksett, passed away on Aug. 15, 2014, at Parkland Medical Center.

He was born in Lavous, Greece on Aug. 29, 1942, the son of Steven and Arete (Krideras) Kanlis. He was a United States Army Veteran.
For more than 30 years, he owned and operated Kanlis Real Estate Agency. He enjoyed watching hockey, baseball and football. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.
Family members include his wife, of 47 years, Colette (Laforge) Kanlis; three daughters, Melissa "Missy" Klocek and her husband, Scott of Auburn, Linda Roberge of Manchester, and Jessica Wallin and her husband, Erik of Auburn; six grandchildren, Crystal, Amanda, Nicole, Courtney, Jonathan, and Benjamin; a sister, Maria Bedard, of Manchester; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
SERVICES: A gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Committal services with military honors will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
