FREMONT - Francis Winters, 79, died on Aug. 19, 2014, at the Exeter Center after a brief illness. He was born on Nov. 24, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Francis and Catherine (Murtaugh) Winters. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, and also attended DePaul University.A resident of Fremont since 1997, he also formerly lived in Kingston, and was employed for many years at Western Electric, now known as Lucent Technologies, before his retirement in 1995. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Epping, and enjoyed reading. He also loved the game of hockey and was an avid Boston Bruins fan.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Romelle (Mundjer) Winters of Fremont; two daughters, Diane Pompei of Bristol, Wis. and Rita Cinabro of Royal Oak, Mich.; his son Michael F. Winters of Fremont; 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon, Jozi, Jesse, Alfred, Francis, Lydia, Carla, Sergio and Daphne-Clare; four great-grandchildren, Page, Phaedra, Zianna, and Kincaid; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four siblings, Bridget O'Grady, Mary Zierler, Patrick O'Grady, and Ann Devries.
