COLEBROOK -- Armand S. "Poupoune" Baillargeon, 73, died July 24, 2009.
He was born in Chartierville, P.Q., Canada, Aug. 10, 1935, to Albert and Eva (Charboneau) Baillargeon. He was educated in Canada, and married Claire Gagne in 1958.
He was a well-known local woodsman, and logging was his life. He owned his own logging company for many years, and he also worked for many other area loggers. He was also the former owner of the Moose Grill and Silver Dollar in Bloomfield, Vt.
He was known to "love to drink beer, logging, and go poaching with Charlie."
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Claire (Gagne) Baillargeon of Colebrook; two sons, Peter Baillargeon of Intervale, and Steve Baillargeon of Glen; a daughter, Sherley McAuliffe of Bartlett; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. An informal gathering of friends and family will immediately follow at the Colebrook Country Club.
