CONWAY -- George A. Yeaton, 74, of Conway died Jan. 9, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Conway May 31, 1936, to Merton and Nettie (Lombard) Yeaton, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Kennett High School in 1954
For the past 54 years, he owned and operated his own electrical business, Yeaton's Electrical Service, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Conway Village Congregational Church, having served as a deacon and trustee in past years and was the general of the "Building of the Walls" campaign. He was a member and captain of the Conway Fire Department for 11 years, a charter member of the Elks, and a member of the Red Men for many years.
Family members include his wife of 24 years, Lois R. (Wilson) Yeaton; four children, Mitchell Yeaton of Alpharetta, Ga., Lorraine Thompson of Denver, N.C., Lincoln Yeaton of Keene, and Stephanie Maxfield Conway; three stepchildren, Michael Sonia of Gloucester, Mass., Kathy Wilson-Ciulla of Gloucester, Mass., and Cindy Wilson of Conway; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother Raymond Yeaton; five sisters, Dorothy Garland, Eleanor Sutton, Ruth Tuttle, Marion Bickford and Barbara Bray.
SERVICES: Visiting hours are Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Furber and White Funeral Home, North Conway. The funeral is Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Conway Village Congregational Church, Conway.
