MERRIMACK -- Virginia M. Jennings, 73, of 11 Forest Drive, died Feb. 13, 2011, at her home.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., Feb. 17, 1937, the daughter of Herbert and Laura (Estey) Hemenway.
She was the owner of a local ice cream stand, King Kone from 1976 - 1999. After retiring, she spent her time knitting, crocheting, and doing embroidery. She was an avid Red Sox fan.
IN HER LIFE: She was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Gagnon and Theresa Hemenway.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Peter M. Jennings of Merrimack; three sons, Chris and his wife Lisa Jennings of Merrimack; Timothy and his wife Eleanor Jennings of Autreyville, N.C.; Peter and his wife Nadine Jennings of Concord; a daughter Susan and her husband Peter Colcord of Manchester; a brother Herbert Hemenway of Beverly, Mass.; four sisters, Nancy Martin of Easthampton, Mass.; Carol Ogert of North Scituate, R.I.; Sally Batura of Florence, Mass., and Bonnie Faeber of Camphill Pa.; 19 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 7 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, with Pastor Allen Tomlinson, Ph.D, officiating. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack.
