She was born June 23, 1940, in Colebrook, daughter of the late Harry O. and Carolyn (Reynolds) Whitehill.
She lived in Colebrook for many years before moving to the New Hampshire Seacoast in 1989. While living in Colebrook, she and her husband operated Nob Hill Shared Home for people with disabilities. After moving to Fremont, she worked as an LNA at the Rockingham County Nursing Home.
Her full-time job was raising her grandchildren, and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed taking the grandchildren to horse shows and watching the grandchildren riding, which she has enjoyed doing for many years. She has many friends in the horse show community. She and her husband also owned and operated Dee's Racing Collectibles, Kingston, for over a decade, selling NASCAR collectibles.
Family members include her devoted husband of 46 years, Joseph N. Gifford of Epping; her children, Jane C. Murch and Jodi L. Ochetto, both of Epping, and Brent H. Gifford of Lancaster; her brothers, Terry Whitehill of Massachusetts and Gary Whitehill of Connecticut; her sister, Deborah Gaylord; and her stepmother, Blanche Whitehill of Connecticut.
IN HER LIFE: Family members also include her son-in-law, Bill Murch of Epping, daughter-in-law Kathy Gifford of Lancaster; her grandchildren, Linley Richardson of Texas, Michael Ochetto Jr. and Sara Deanna Fernald, both of Epping, Christopher Gifford of Newport, Christina Cann of Northfield and Nichole Keezer of Epping; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Cann and Ella Mae Gifford; brother-in-law James Gaylord Sr.; her niece, Laurie Ann Gaylord of Connecticut; and nephew James Gaylord Jr. of North Carolina.
SERVICES: A celebration of her life is Thursday at 2 p.m. in Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
