TWIN MOUNTAIN - Doris Theresa St. Pierre Luebke, 85, passed through heaven's door peacefully on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born in 1927 in Berlin to William and Desneiges Busque St. Pierre, Doris enrolled and was accepted as a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps in September 1945, before marrying Alexander Snitko in November 1945 and moving to Twin Mountain. She would remain married to Alexander for 27 years. She remarried in 1989 to Daniel Luebke for 18 years until his passing in 2006, but Doris would remain a well known citizen of Twin Mountain for over 50 years.
An entrepreneur at heart, in her career, she bought and ran the well-known Twin Towers restaurant in Twin Mountain, sold real estate, was a top-selling Avon saleswoman, established and managed Mountain Supply, a local plumbing and heating supply company. She enjoyed walking, biking, hiking, cross-country skiing and hunting in her beautiful White Mountains. Active in the Catholic Church and the local community, Doris shared her energy and her enthusiasm with those around her, lending a hand and leaving a smile. Her garden was always her refuge and she frequently shared its bounty with friends and family. An avid cook, Doris's recipes remain favorites of friends and family. Her sisters called her "Rosy" because she saw the world through rose-colored glasses.
Doris was a loving, devoted daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Stewart (David), Wichita, Kan., Craig Snitko (Beth), Telluride, Colo., Cathy Crocker (Bob), Safety Harbor, Fla., Christopher Snitko (Heidi), Twin Mountain, Clark Snitko (Suzanne), Rocklin, Calif., Caryn Noel (Rick), Royal Oak, Mich.; siblings, Henry St. Pierre (Doris), Jeanne Brien, Rita Lemelin (Sylvio), Lorraine Martin (Roger), Richard St. Pierre (Sally); six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
