Born in Jacksonville, Fla., on Feb 7, 1912, she was the daughter of Richard W. Lyman and Lena B. Comer. She lived most of her life in New Jersey before moving to Easton with her husband, Harold, in 1971.

She graduated from Columbia High School, South Orange, N.J., in 1930. While living in Maplewood, N.J., and working at Metropolitan Life on Madison Avenue in New York City in the summer of 1930, she met Harold F. Klumbach, and they married March 22, 1932 in the Bronx, N.Y.
