MANCHESTER - Doris P. Hood, 55, of Manchester, died Nov. 13, 2012, at Elliot Hospital.

Mrs. Hood was born in Goffstown on May 3, 1957, and was the daughter of Andrew and Lorraine (Lavallee) Raymond.
She was a member of St. Pius X Church. She was employed with the U.S. Probation Department in Concord for over 23 years.
Doris had a love of animals that started at a very young age. Her passion for animals extended to being a vegetarian and she volunteered at many animal shelters, most recently as president of Animal Allies, a spray/neuter organization for feral cats.
Members of the family include her husband of 37 years, David Hood of Manchester; a son, Scott Hood of Derry; a daughter, Stacy and her husband, Peter Van Wickle of Manchester and one beloved grandchild, Augustus Van Wickle. Also included in the family are her mother, Lorraine (Lavallee) Raymond of Manchester; four brothers, Roger Raymond, Gary Raymond and Bill Raymond, all of Manchester and Michael Raymond of Hooksett; two sisters, Linda Raymond and Karen Raymond, both of Manchester, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cain & Janosz Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 74 Brook St., corner of Pine Street.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Road, Manchester. Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
