Born in Manchester on Jan. 14, 1928, she was the daughter of Arthur and Sarah (Cassily) McConnell. She was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.
She graduated from Saint Joseph High School for Girls and attended Hesser Business School.
Early in her career, she was a secretary with Dunn and Bradstreet and Manchester Savings Bank. Later, she worked at New Horizon for New Hampshire and at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Maguire was a longtime communicant of Saint Joseph Cathedral. She was a member of the choir and the St. Anne Ladies Guild of the parish.
She was a volunteer usher at the Palace Theatre for many years. She was a member of the West Side Senior Center.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her family was the center of her life. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed knitting and line dancing.
She was married 24 years to William J. Maguire. He died Oct. 18, 1984.
Family members include two sons, Kevin W. Maguire and his wife, Nancy, and Alan W. Maguire and his wife, Christine; her daughter, Maureen Moreau and her husband, Leo, all of Manchester; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
services: Calling hours are Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union St., corner of Concord Street, Manchester.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Saint Joseph Cathedral, 145 Lowell St., Manchester.
Burial will take place in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
