SALEM - The Reverend Mr. William Glenn Morrill, 77, of Salem, died Tuesday June 11, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the Community Hospice House of Merrimack. Deacon Morrill was a son of the late Arthur L. and Irene (Eddy) Morrill. He was raised and educated in Derry and was a 1955 graduate of Pinkerton Academy. He was also a gaduate of Greer Technical Institute of Illinois.

Deacon Morrill served in the U.S. Navy as a boatswain's mate third class on the USS Boston at the end of the Korean War. He was employed as an operating engineer with Operator Union Local 4 of Boston serving 50 years. He had previously served as a police officer in the town of Derry and as police chief of Chester, in the 1970s. He was also an ordained Anglican Deacon, founder and builder of St. Luke's Anglican Church of Amherst. Rev. Morrill was a graduate of the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council Academy and a member of the New Hampshire Chiefs of Police Association, the Derry Police Relief Association, the Chester Lions Club and a rescue diver with the Derry Fire Department.

Members of the family include his loving wife of 20 years, Cheryl (Barnes) Morrill of Salem; a daughter and her husband, Janet and Jim Reeves of Foley, Ala.; a son Robert Morrill of Salem; two children he raised, Niki Barnes of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Samantha Morrill of Salem; grandchildren, Jesse Sims, Jaida Reeves and Jordan Reeves; three sisters, Barbara Whitcraft, Diane LaPlante and Brenda Hastings, all of Derry; an uncle, Robert Eddy and his wife Claire and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters Leona Cino , Karen Wittbrodt and his brother David Morrill.

SERVICES: After cremation, a memorial will be held Saturday June 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 3 Limbo Lane in Amherst. A private committal of his cremated remains will be at Great Hill Cemetery of Chester.
