RAYMOND - John Stanley Sytulek Jr., 50, died on Aug. 9, 2013. He was born on April 21, 1963, son of John S. and Theresa (DeSimone) Sytulek Sr. He grew up in New Britain, Conn., and was a longtime resident. He had lived in Raymond for the last 11 years.

He was a 1981 graduate of New Britain High School and had worked in the service department for Schaller Auto World in New Britain, Conn. For the last 11 years, he was a district parts and service manager for American Honda Motor Co. John was very active in the community, particularly in youth sports. He coached all levels of baseball from Little League to Babe Ruth and high school. He was assistant coach for the varsity baseball team at Raymond High School. John was also involved in the Raymond Youth Athletic Association and the Nor-Rock Football program. He also enjoyed photography and was an avid car enthusiast.
John is survived by his wife of 19 years, Robin (Orde) Sytulek of Raymond; two sons, Benjamin J. Sytulek and Mitchell E. Sytulek, both of Raymond; a sister, Bernice (Sytulek) Thwaites of Rhode Island; two brothers-in-law, Frederick B. Orde and wife Janet of Kensington, Conn., Ronald E. Orde and wife Lisa, also of Kensington, Conn.; nieces and nephews, Erik, Matthew, Nicholas, Devin, Nathan, Caleb, and Sofia; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including a special cousin Dennis Mirante of Vermont.
services: Calling hours will be on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond. A second set of calling hours will be on Friday, Aug. 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, Conn. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
