Raymond Beetz Obituary

MANCHESTER - Raymond Beetz, 95, of Manchester, died suddenly Sept. 27, 2013, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.

He was born April 11, 1918, in Manchester, the son of the late Fritz William and Emma (Lamontagne) Beetz. Raymond graduated from Goffstown High School.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Mr. Beetz had worked at Johnson Lumber Co. before becoming a firefighter. He retired from the Manchester Fire Department after 26 years of service.

Raymond was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was also a devout Catholic, good father, husband and friend.

Family members include his loving wife of 72 years, Lorraine (Cote) Beetz of Manchester; three children, James Beetz and his wife Debra of Litchfield, Daniel Beetz and his wife Jean of York, Maine, and Darlene Tomson of Saugerties, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Stasia Shimkus, Kristina Beetz, Derek Earle, Deanna Jordan, James Beetz and Jessica Stielau; five great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes Lemieux of North Carolina.

SERVICES: A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 9 Saint Francis Way, Litchfield, on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Ray's name to your favorite charity. For more information, go to phaneuf.net.

Lorraine, although we never formerly met, I was Jerry's daughter-law and my husband Dennis always spoke highly of you and of Ray. Dennis passed away three years ago and I know what you are feeling right now. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
