Guy Brisson Obituary

TILTON - Guy W. Brisson, 81, passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Home in Tilton.

Guy was born in Manchester on Aug. 9, 1934, the son of Alfred and Cecile (Gauthier) Brisson. Guy grew up in Manchester and attended St. Anthony Grammar and High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1956, stationed in Germany.

After leaving the Army he moved to Connecticut to work for Pratt & Whitney. During this time he courted his future bride long distance, returning to Manchester every weekend. Guy and Lorraine married in 1958. During the early years of marriage and raising a family, Guy went to night school, obtaining his bachelor's degree at the University of Hartford in mechanical engineering. The Brisson family moved to South Windsor in 1970, where Guy coached youth hockey and was a founding member of the South Windsor Swim and Tennis Club. Guy retired in 1996 after 40 years with Pratt & Whitney.

After retiring, he and Lorraine moved from the family home in Connecticut to Plymouth where they built their beautiful hillside home, Windy Meadow. He also enjoyed watching his sports, in particular the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. During the summer he could be found taking meticulous care of his yard, mowing all six acres. Guy loved woodworking, making bookcases and other furniture pieces.

Guy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine; his children, Marc Brisson and his wife Jennifer, Michele Dudzic and her husband David, Matthew Brisson and his wife Heidi, and Fr. Michael Brisson; two granddaughters, Emily and Daria; and two grandsons, Ethan and Nicholas.

South Windsor tennis club has not been the same since he passed away and in fact the tennis part may actually totally dissolve in the courts may be closed due to the lack of membership. We need more people like guy to be added to our club. He’s always such a nice person and fun person to play with. He’s always in our hearts and memories I hope you always keep them in your heart and memories also do you know he was always loved by all of us. Ray Kurker and South Windsor tennis club friends

It is mid April and Charlotte and I just stumbled across Guy's obit and were shocked. It's been quite a while since we last visited from Louisville, KY and we feel badly about that. We have fond memories of all of the family since we spent time together in East Hartford and Manchester. Our condolences and love go to all of the family. Joel and Charlotte Gittelson.
