MARYSVILLE – Clifford Gale Stokes, Sr., 59, of Raymond, formerly of North Lewisburg, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at his home with his family at his side. As a building contractor, he was involved in construction for many years. He was a handyman and had creative ideas in building projects out of recycled objects. He changed other's trash into treasures. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and gun collecting. He also liked coin collecting and was a big Ohio State fan. He was born January 15, 1955, in North Lewisburg to the late Richard and Annabelle Knox Stokes and was also preceded in death by a son, Chance S. Stokes; his mother-in-law, Patricia A. Turney; and his grandmother-in-law, Eleanor Mundy. He is survived by his wife, Tonya Bowling Stokes, who he married August 1973; his son, Clifford G. (Fiona) Stokes, Jr., of West Mansfield, and his daughter, Amiee Stokes of Columbus; four grandchildren, Klarissa, Elijah, Eddie and Sebastian; brothers and sisters, Richard "Dale" Stokes, Brett Stokes, Bart Stokes, Alberta "Sis" (Arthur "Buck") Taylor, Barbara (Duane) Hughes and Mildred "Millie" (Randy) Damron, all of North Lewisburg, Vicky (Mike) Newhart of Venice, FL, and Gladys "Vonnie" Welch of Milford Center, and Anna Marie Thomas, Tamela "Tammy" (Rick) Earl, both of Marysville; and brothers-in-law, Shawn Wallace, Don Turney, Lenny Turney and Kelly Turney; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at UNDERWOOD FUNERAL HOME, where the family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
