Virginia Aiello Obituary

Virginia (Napoli) Aiello
Utica
Mrs. Virginia "Jean" (Napoli) Aiello, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Presbyterian Home for Central NY, Inc., with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica on November 4, 1925, Virginia was the daughter of the late Luigi and Genevieve (Delia) Napoli. She was raised and educated locally and in Yonkers where she relocated with her family as a child. On September 23, 1950, she married Joseph J. Aiello, Jr., with whom she shared 42 years prior to his passing on May 14, 1993. Jean and Joe were a perfect couple who enjoyed sharing their lives with one another and raising their family with kindness and love. For many years, Jean worked as an assembler at the General Electric Company. After the birth of her children, she worked alongside her husband, Joseph, in the family venture, J. Aiello & Sons Moving Company. Determined and strong-willed, Jean was the matriarch and the source of strength for her family. She never wanted to be the center of attention, but focused on others around her. She had a magnificent talent for baking and was well-known for her delectable wedding cakes, delicious cookies, and delightfully detailed gingerbread houses. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a sisterhood of women who shared fun and fellowship. She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church. Jean is survived by her daughter, Debra Aiello-Murphy and her husband, William, of Oriskany; her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph J. III and Julia Aiello of Schuyler; her grandchildren, Joseph Aiello IV and his wife, Amanda, Jason Aiello and Katherine LaVallo, Brandi Inman, Jaclyn Murphy, and Michelle Murphy; and her great-grandchildren, Joseph V, Sam, and Lilliana. She also leaves her sister, Gloria Morgia of Utica; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Susie Senizk of Utica, and Joanne and Raymond Roback of Clinton. She was predeceased by her sister, Camille Napoli; and her in-laws, Anne Rizzo, Dominick "Doc" Aiello, Salvatore "Savy" and Grace Aiello, Joseph Senizk, Carmella Granieri, Frank and Louise Aiello, and Joseph Morgia. The family is grateful to the nurses and staff of the Maple Unit at the Presbyterian Home, especially Sharon, Denise, Steve, Rosa, Brittany, and Stephany, for the loving care they rendered to Jean during her stay. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:30-12:00 noon at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Jean's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Rev. Mark Pasik officiating the ceremony. Memorial contributions in Jean's honor may be considered to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Mark's Church in lieu of flowers; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Interment will take place graveside in Calvary Cemetery. Online tributes at: www.EannaceFuneralHome.com
