Babowicz Sr., Edward P.  
Edward P. Babowicz, Sr. N. UTICA Mr. Edward P. Babowicz, Sr. , 91, of N. Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Edward was born in Utica on November 26, 1923, the son of Alexander and Helen (Kaminski) Babowicz. He was raised and educated in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Free Academy, Mohawk Valley Community College and attended Syracuse University. Edward proudly served in the US Army during WW II. In 1951, Edward married Jessie C. Wojdyla at Transfiguration Church of Our Lord in Rome, NY, a devoted union of 63 years until Jessie's death in 2014. Prior to his service in the US Army, Edward was employed with Savage Arms and for many years he was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer Programmer with Chicago Pneumatic Company until his retirement after 37 years of dedicated service. Edward enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, fishing and going to the casino. He was also a very talented "Gadget" maker for anything that needed to be fixed and was a stamp and coin collector. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Utica. Mr. Babowicz is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Edward, Jr., and Kathy Babowicz, of Westmoreland; two cherished grandchildren, Jason Babowicz and his fiancee, Samantha Barnes, of Westmoreland, and Kristin Matthews and her husband, Hal, of Westmoreland; a great-grandson, Tristan Matthews, of Westmoreland; a sister-in-law, Helen Babowicz, of Utica; a close family friend, Jim Rondinelli; as well as several nieces and nephews, including his God daughter, Susan Green. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Sahli and Jane Smolka, and a brother, Walter Babowicz. In keeping with Mr. Babowicz's wishes, his funeral will be held privately at the convenience of his family. His Rite of Committal and entombment, with military honors, will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. There are no calling hours. Beckingham, Jean Lanphear  
Jean Lanphear Beckingham RAQUETTE LAKE, NY Jean Lanphear Beckingham , age 92, passed away on May 8, 2015, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Joanne Beckingham in Micco, Florida. Jean was born on April 14, 1923, at Poplar Point in Raquette Lake, New York, to Orrin and Hazel Lanphear. She attended and in 1939 graduated from the Raquette Lake High School. Following her graduation, Jean attended Adirondack Commercial School in Malone, New York, on a full one-year scholarship. On February 6, 1944, at the Fort Worth, Texas, Army Air Corps Base, Jean was united in marriage to Lt. Richard (Bud) Beckingham. Bud was a resident of Old Forge, New York. From 1960 until her retirement, Jean was employed by Hamilton County and the State of New York for county judges, James D. Curry and George W. Martin. She began her career as Deputy and then was promoted to Clerk of Family and Surrogate Court. Additionally, Jean was a stenographer for the County Court. Jean was a life-long member of the Raquette Lake Chapel, a charter member of the Raquette Lake Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of the Raquette Lake Fish & Game Club. She actively participated in all of these endeavors well into her 80's. Jean enjoyed sewing, bowling, hunting and fishing. She was actively interested in and enjoyed all sports. Jean is survived by her son, Richard Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Micco, FL; son, Thomas and his wife, Elizabeth, of Raquette Lake; daughter, Sandra and her husband, Donald Hicks, of Raquette Lake; and a sister-in-law, Doris Lamphear, of Raquette Lake. Additionally, she is survived by three grandsons, Wayne, Christopher and Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Wyatt and Darby Jean; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband of 60 years; a daughter, Sharon; brothers, Stanley, Jerry, Frank and Edgar; and sisters, Edna Colligan and Shirley Forsell. At her request, Jean will be cremated. There will be no service, calling hours or celebration of life. Inurnment will be private. Anyone wishing to do so may send donations in Jean's memory to the Raquette Lake Chapel or the Raquette Lake Fire Dept., both in Raquette Lake, NY 13436.

Bouck, Hugh R.  
Hugh R. Bouck ILION Hugh R. Bouck , 71, of Pine Tree Dr., in Ilion, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at home with his family by his side. Hugh was born on October 5, 1943, in Ilion. He was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (McSherry) Bouck. He was a graduate of Ilion schools and Utica School of Commerce, and was employed as a sub assembler at Remington Arms Co., until retiring in 2007. On October 16, 1965, he married the former Nancy Eastwood at Annunciation Church in Ilion. Hugh is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Ellen; a son, Robert and his wife, Simone, all of Ilion; two brothers, Russell and his wife, Diane, of Raleigh, NC, and James and his wife, Rosemary, of Frankfort; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Batman, of Fredonia, and Ellen and her husband, Winfred Arnold, of Mohawk; his special grandson and great-grandson, Jake and Jaylon; as well as several nieces and nephews; and a special feline granddaughter, Galaxi. In keeping with Hugh's wishes, there are no calling hours, and a graveside service will be held at Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion at a date to be announced. Bouck, Margaret E.  
Margaret E. Bouck UNADILLA FORKS Margaret E. Bouck , 75, of Unadilla Forks, passed away May 17, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born March 2, 1940, in West Winfield, NY, the daughter of Evan and Gladys Horning Ephraim. She graduated from West Winfield School in 1958. On February 20, 1962, she married Walter I. Bouck. She is survived by her husband, Walter; son, Walter; sister, Mary Jane Williams; three brothers, Lloyd, Donald and Jon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, David, and a sister, Eloise. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (today) from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 365 W. Main Street, West Winfield. Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Brown WESTMORELAND Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Brown , age 85, formerly of Westmoreland and for the past five years a resident of Palmer Street, Norwich, CT, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, in William Backus Hospital. She was born on April 22, 1929, in Rome, New York, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen (Herbst) Camadine, and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On October 15, 1949, Jackie was united in marriage with James H. Brown in Rome, New York, and the couple shared this union until Mr. Brown's death on March 29, 1991. She was the mother of six children and their spouses: Donna Ehle (Russell Ehle deceased) of Newark, N.Y., Paul Brown (Barbara Goldsen) of St. Albans, VT, Ann Ossont of Norwich, CT, Dennis Ossont, Stephen Brown (Costanza Brown) of Punta Gorda, FL, Suzanne Brown of Boston, MA, and Patricia Brown of Knoxville, TN. She was the grandmother of Heather (Brent Russell) Russell, Russell Ehle IV (Laura Kelley), Benjamin (Danielle Ossont), Aaron (Renee Augmon) and Jeffrey Ossont, Yuchana St. Germain-Brown, Angela Edwards-Brown and Marcella Brown. She was the great-grandmother of Donovan, Carter and Jacqueson (deceased) Russell, Kendyll and Quinn Ehle, Julia Ryan, Carolyn Augmon and Esias Brown-Rosario. Her sisters, Lucille Internicola (Nicholas Internicola deceased), Phyllis Delaney (Joseph Delaney) of Rome, New York, and Sally Knudsen (Claude Knudsen) of West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews survive her. Jackie was known for her generosity, kindness, her willingness to do for others and her sharp wit. She worked hard throughout her life for the benefit of her family, friends and her community. She was a deeply curious woman who loved to learn and read and inspired others to do the same. She will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Mass will be held on May 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Annunciation, Clark Mills. Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery, Westmoreland, New York. A celebration of her life will be immediately held afterwards at the Westmoreland Fire Hall and the family welcomes all who wish to remember her. Brown Sr., Robert J. "Brownie"  
Robert "Brownie" J. Brown, Sr. WHITESBORO, NY Mr. Robert "Brownie" J. Brown, Sr. , 82, of Whitesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Robert was born in Rome, NY, on May 26, 1932, the son of George C. and Katherine (Fleming) Brown. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Robert proudly served in The US Navy during the Korean War. On October 27, 1956, Robert married Arlene Maxwell, a devoted union of 55 years until Arlene's death in 2011. For 31 years, Robert was employed with Rome Air Development Corp. (Rome Labs) until his retirement in 1987. Robert was a well-known football and basketball referee and enjoyed golf, sports and card games. He was a member of American Legion Post 1113 in Whitesboro, American Legion Post 1376 in New Hartford, and the Elks Club 33 as PER. Robert will be remembered for the great love and devotion he showed to his family, especially his children who were the joy of his life. Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Jim Mills, of FL, and Tracey and Tom Lehman, of NY; seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Robert, Jr., and Lisa Brown, of CT, Marc and Grace Brown, of FL, Chris and Sue Brown, of NY, Frank and Barbara Brown, of MD, Steve and Randy Arichea-Brown, of CA, Pat Brown, of NY, and Donny Brown, of Whitesboro; one brother, George "Brownie" Brown, of MD; a sister-in-law, Shirley Brown, of NY Mills; as well as 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joellyn Maxwell; son, Joseph Leigh; grandson, Christopher Brown; sister, Barbara Tobiasz; and brother, Michael Brown. Mr. Brown's funeral will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Committal and burial, with military honors, will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
