Wolanin, Dennis P.  
Dennis P. Wolanin ROME Dennis P. Wolanin , 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 23, 2015. He was born on August 29, 1944, son of the late Peter and Helen Czyscon Wolanin in Rome, NY. He attended Oriskany Central Schools. Dennis served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967. On May 25, 1968, Dennis was united in marriage to Barbara Roman at St. Peter's Church, Rome, NY. The couple resided in Stanwix, NY. Dennis was employed by Special Metals Corp. for 37 years until his retirement. He was a life member of Stanwix's Veterans and Mens Club, American Legion Smith Post #24, and VFW Post 2246, Rome. Dennis enjoyed watching his grandsons, Parker and Colin, playing baseball. He was an avid outdoorsman who could be seen biking all over Rome. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp in the Tug Hill. He cherished the time on Butts Rd. with his buddies, Bobby Roman, David Bordiuk and Richard Roman. Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara; daughters, Tina (Jamie) Meyer, White Lake, MI, Cheryl (Bryan) Sopko, McDonough, GA, Karen (Jim) Stace, Camden, NY; two grandsons, Parker and Colin Stace; one aunt, Emily (Bob) Chernosky, Syracuse, NY; his sister, Doreen (Frank) DeCristo, FL; three stepbrothers, Ronald Duda, NV, Larry (Donna) Duda, Rome, NY, and Steven (Teresa) Duda, VT; two sisters-in-law, Rose (Bill) Pirillo and Lynda (Steve) O'Malley; four brothers-in-law, David (Mary) Roman, Bob (Catherine) Roman, Tom (Deanna) Roman and James (Laura) Roman; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and other lifelong friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Friends and relatives are invited to the calling hours Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Gulla Funeral Home, 209 N. Washington Street, Rome, NY, from 4:00-6:30 p.m. with a service at 6:30 p.m. followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stanwix's Veterans and Mens Club and/or Camden American Legion baseball program. Arrangements in care of Wolanin Funeral Home, Inc.

Young Jr., Robert  
Robert Young, Jr. MARCY Robert Young, Jr. , 79, of Marcy, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Robert was born on June 24, 1935, in Troy, New York. He was employed with Faxton Hospital as a Dishwasher, prior to retiring. Surviving are All of D'Amico ICF residents and staff , as well as his extended UCP family. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Myslinski Funeral Home, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will commence following visitation at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Robert would always let us know exactly what he was thinking. He loved his many hats, sunglasses and books. He loved to share a laugh with the "Three Stooges" or a good "game" on TV. He will be missed.
