James Patrick Moore, 49, of Oriskany, passed away peacefully May 31, 2014, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with his loving family at his side. He was born November 20, 1964, in New Hartford, a son of Richard C. and Mary Pat Field Moore. Jim was a graduate of Whitesboro Central High School. He married Judith Ciaccia on June 8, 1985, at St. Pauls Church, Whitesboro. Jim was employed with the Town of Whitestown Highway Department for nearly 20 years, most recently as a foreman. Jim was a devoted family man and his happiest times were those spent with his family participating in all of his hobbies including their annual Moore family camping trip to the St. Lawrence. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, gardening, and he loved his tractor. Jim was the definition of a handyman; he always gave his time and talent to help family and friends with any project, including carpentry, plumbing or electrical work. He was a member of the Whitesboro Fire Dept. First Responders Golf League at Crestwood Golf Club; and had coached Whitestown Youth Hockey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Judi; his children who were the world to him and who he had shared all of his skills and passions with: son, Jim, and daughter, Amy; his parents, Dick and Pat Moore; his siblings and their spouses, along with his nieces and nephews, Linda (Mark) Toukatly, Sara (Chris), Jesse (Amy) and Abby; Steve (Paula) Moore, Nicole, Ashley and Jenna; Sharon (Mike) Palmer, Dedra; Chris (Rich) Maynard, Grace and Olivia; and Colleen (Scott) Giuliano, Caitlynn and Nicholas; his mother-in-law, Natalie Ciaccia; in-laws, nieces and nephews, Jean (David) Cidzik, Aaron (Rose), Adam and Kara; Joan (Wayne) Rathbone, Kelly (Ryan), Sara and Audra; Vince (Roseanne) Ciaccia, Andrew, Jessica, Stephanie and Natalie; he also leaves two great-nephews and a great-niece; along with his little buddy Noah; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Vincent Ciaccia. Jims family would like to express their sincere thanks to all of his close friends and co-workers for their continued support; and Oriskany Fire Dept., Officer Matt Zabek, Dr. Timothy LaFont, Faxton-St. Lukes Emergency Dept., CCU Staff and Palliative Care group for their care and concern. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 8:30 a.m., from Dimbleby,Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street,Whitesboro, and 9:30 a.m. at St. Pauls Church, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated.
