Michele Potrzeba (Kulesa), 51, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012, unexpectedly, at Oneida Healthcare Center. She was born in New Hartford on December 7, 1961, the daughter of Edward and Virginia Ptak Potrzeba, and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1980. She married Theodore Kulesa on April 3, 1999. Michele worked for Fleet Bank, Carl's Drug Store and Upstate Office Equipment. Michele was an animal lover who enjoyed boating and fishing on Oneida Lake with her late husband, Teddy. They often spoke of their relationship and regarded it as the ability to finish each other's sentence, truly being soul mates! Michele enjoyed watching the deer, turkeys and any other "furry friends" she could see at her little piece of paradise! Spending her days at "the farm" with Teddy brought great happiness to her life. Her hobbies also included crossword puzzles, gardening, and feeding the fish at the pond with the kids. Michele's most cherished possession was her daughter, Amber. They were best friends; the bond they shared was unbreakable and their loyalty unmatched. Her survivors include her daughter, Amber Soriano and her fiance, Joseph Wyborski, of Utica; her parents, Edward Sr. and Virginia Potrzeba, of Clinton; two brothers and their wives, Michael and Deborah Potrzeba, of Marcy, and their children, Amy and her husband, Daniel Macrina, of VA, and Josh Potrzeba and his fiancee, Megan Lanning, of VA, and Edward Jr. and Heather Potrzeba and their children, Edward III and Charles, of Marcy; step-children, William Soriano, of RI, Carletta and Jeffrey Darling, of Remsen, Scott and Robin Kulesa, of Rochester, Kellie Kulesa, of Utica, and Teddy and Suzanne Kulesa, of CA; her step-grandchildren, Dakota, Cody, Brianna, Kenna, Peyton and Jayce; aunts, Dolores Ptak, of Utica, and Beverly Ptak, of FL; an uncle, Charles Mierzwa, of CT; and many cousins, including Ryan Fitts serving our country in Afghanistan. Also included is a special friend, Jeffrey Dewitt, of Deansboro. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore Kulesa; infant brother, Mark Edward Potrzeba; and her canine companion, Leonard. The family would like to thank Kimberly, the trauma nurse at Oneida Healthcare Center, for her relentless effort and compassion to help Michele in her last hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, New Hartford. Those that wish may call on Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Whitesboro. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus & Casimer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in her name to the Rome Humane Society, PO Box 4572, Rome, NY 13442.
