Norman Pop Berg, Jr., 70, of Palermo, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica to Norman Sr. and Jean Berg, Pop served during the Korean Conflict with the US Army. He retired from L.U. 79 Plumbers and Steamfitters, in Utica, after 40+ yrs of service. Pop was an avid ice fisherman and hunter. Pop is predeceased by his parents, and sister, Christine McCoy. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Natalie; sons, Justin and Chris Berg; daughter, Nikol (Jason House) Berg; sister, Terry Hammes; brother, Paul Berg; brother-in-law, Karl Korenini; beloved granddaughters, Makenzi and Allie Berg; and many extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, 7:00 pm, with military honors to follow, at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square.
