Carol A. Gaudin, age 79, of Stoneleigh Apartments, passed away early Sunday morning, December 15, 2013, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, with her family at her side. She was born on December 11, 1934, in Vernon, New York, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nazel) Koba, and was a graduate of Vernon High School. Carol and Ronald L. Gaudin were united in marriage in 1951 and shared a loving union until Ronald's unexpected death in 1973. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, doing crafts and playing shuffle board with her neighbors, and was a former shuffle board champion. Surviving are her eight children and their spouses, Joseph (Sarah) Gaudin, of Deansboro, Debbi (Arnold Jr.) Leuenberger, of Jonesboro, TN, Ronald, Jr. (Judy) Gaudin, of Sangerfield, Laurie Terrier, of Madison, Greg (Sheila) Gaudin, of Vernon Center, Doug (Faith) Gaudin, of Madison, Scott (Dee) Gaudin, of Okeechobee, FL, and Dorene (Robert) Thornton, of Canastota; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lorraine Gaudin-Deuprey, of Schenectady. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Ronald L. Gaudin, and her parents. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Carol's funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, New York.
