Jodi Lynne Marris, 28, of Oriskany Falls, became an angel at Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse on June 3, 2013, after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 8, 1984, the daughter of Ronald Marris and Sharon (Godfrey) Hynes. She graduated from Waterville High School and recently graduated with her Associates Degree from MVCC. She was currently employed at the family store Mills Electrical Supply. She was also recently accepted at Appalachian State in NC and was planning on going back to get her degree in Social Work. She loved her family and friends deeply. She also loved her Sugar Glider, Jack, and her 2 cats. Jodi enjoyed live music, camping, hiking, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She gave the best hugs and her laughter was infectious. She touched everyone she met in some way. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her father and companion, Ronald Marris and Mary Bikowsky; her mother and stepfather, Sharon (Godfrey) and Joseph Hynes; her sister, Andrea Marris; her brother, Eric Marris; her stepsisters, Jennifer Hynes and Melissa (Luis) Rego; her paternal grandmother, Amy Marris; her cousin and his girlfriend who were her best friends, Corey Marris and Peggy; her aunts, Carol (Jim) Falin, Patricia Miller, Linda (Paul) Eastman, Brenda (Matt) Marris, Virginia Marris and Susan (Royce) Rogers; her uncles, William (Colleen) Marris, Allen (Renee) Marris, Robert Marris and Robert Godfrey; two nephews; a niece; and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Reginald and Peggy Godfrey; her paternal grandfather, Robert (R.D.) Marris; and her two uncles, Darrell Marris and Patrick Falin. Friends and family may call on Sunday, June 9, 2013, from 1-4 p.m. at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 East Main St., Waterville. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Ed Townsend officiating. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family on Monday at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton. Memorial donations may be made to the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network, Corporate Woods of Brighton, Bldg. 30, Suite 220, Rochester, NY 14623, or a charity of your choice in Jodi's name. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and other staff at Upstate University Medical Center for their loving care and compassion that they gave to Jodi.
