Carol E. Bugbee
Deansboro
Carol Emma (Chapman) Bugbee, daughter of Henry and Cora Chapman, passed away August 7, 2011, at age 92, after a brief illness. She was born at home on Niagara Street in Utica, NY, on January 17, 1919, and resided there until she married the love of her life, Lester M. Bugbee, on July 12, 1942, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Utica, NY. Carol was a graduate of Wetmore Elementary School and Utica Free Academy. She and Lester moved to Deansboro in January of 1950 with daughter, Judy, and son, Roger. Carol enjoyed many crafts, swimming, traveling cross-country with Lester and using her computer. In addition to her beloved husband, Lester; daughter, Judith C. (Bugbee) Manchester and spouse - equivalent, Robert M. Allen, West Winfield; and son, Roger G. Bugbee, Deansboro, and special friend, Colette Pierce, Deansboro, Carol is survived by grandchildren and their spouses, Bethany J. (Adam) Sposato, Lake Peekskill, David M. Manchester, Rochester, Daniel W. (Jessica) Manchester, West Henrietta, and Phillip G. Bugbee and fiancee, Virginia Drummond, Deansboro; great-grandchildren, Miranda and Samuel Sposato, Alexander Manchester and Jakob Lane and Jacob and Nicholas Bugbee; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters- and brothers-in-law, Pricilla Geiser, Lillian and Jay Belfield, Albany, Blanch (Bunny) and Lawrence Morton, Barbara and Whitfield (Bud) Ivany, NJ, and Yvonne (Cookie) Wilson, TX. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Lawrence Beswick; brother and sisters-in-law, Warren and Evelyn Chapman, Lynn and Margaret Chapman; by brothers- and sisters-in-law, Herman and Emily Bugbee, Robert and Jeanette Bugbee, and sister-in-law, Reba Bugbee. Cremation will be handled by Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville, NY. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Christ, Deansboro, at 1 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011. www.klosternorthropbentz.com

It was very sad to hear that Carol passed away this week. It's been a while since I'd seen her, I remember her fondly from my years growing up in Deansboro, particularly the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners we had on West Hill, and summers at Madison Lake. God bless.
