Colleen Doyle Obituary
Whitesboro
Colleen M. Doyle, 45 of Palmer Ave., passed away Thursday July 11, 2013 at University Hospital, Syracuse. She was born July 14, 1967, in Endicott, a daughter of James G. and Martha A. Hunt Doyle. She graduated from Newark Valley High School and was currently working towards a degree in human services at MVCC. Colleen was a loving caregiver to Mary Kathleen Carey of Hamilton, whom she affectionately called Monkey. She was a very spiritual person. She loved everyone and would always be there for those in need. She had a special place in her heart for children. Colleen enjoyed spending time at Bradley Brook Lake, kayaking, hiking , and playing and listening to music. She will be sadly missed by her partner, Michelle LaBonte, of Whitesboro and her family; her father, James G. Doyle, of Newark Valley; her grandmother, Marie Stetson, of Little Meadows, PA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and James Carey, of Rochester; Christine and Anthony DeCarolis, of New Hartford, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James P. and Kathy Doyle, of Owego; and Thomas and Judy Doyle and Matthew Doyle, of Newark Valley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Martha A. Doyle. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday July 17, 2013 from St. Bernards Catholic Church, Stafford Ave. Waterville with Fr. Paul Carey officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel, 210 E. Main St., Waterville. Contributions in Colleens memory may be made to an Animal Rescue or Shelter of your choice. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, palliative care and all the staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and University Hospital for their sincere kindness and support. Colleen was one of my very best friends ever! She loved to come to the house when my kids were little and keep them entertained(I called her "Mommy #2")She could light up a room just by being there! Colleen was a feisty, happy, said what was on her mind, kind of person. We hadn't seen or talked in quite a few years until just two years ago. My dear classmate and fellow friend. As I was looking through old pictures the other day, I came across a picture of you in front of the Tappan-Spaulding Library that I had taken. I smile came across my face as I remember that day: laughing, joking and just being goofy. (Aren't all fifth graders?)
Through the years we shared many classes together and graduated, lost touch, then recently reconnected on Facebook. I will never forget you, Colleen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN.
