George W. Brucker, 81, of Clinton and lifelong resident of Deerfield passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 with his loving family by his side. George was born in Utica on April 6, 1933, a son of Charles and Laura Brucker and was raised and education in Deerfield. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. George married Dorothy Lange in Utica on February 18, 1956 a blessed union of 58 years. For many years he was employed with Utica Alloys. George was an avid gardener and always enjoyed working in the outdoors. George is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Vanessa Conkling, N. Utica; two cherished granddaughters, Melissa Conkling and Duane Polovick, Whitesboro and Nicole Conkling, N. Utica; four great-grandchildren, Skyler, Nathan, Noah and Georgiana, a son-in-law, James Conkling, New York Mills; in-laws, Pauline and Donald Haman, Schuyler, Eleanor and Stanley Tolpa, Utica , Ted and Nancy Lange, Schuyler, Richard and Janet Lange, North Gage, Dennis Lange, CO , and Harold and Christine Lange, SC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by two brothers, Bill and Howard Brucke; a sister, Doris Senius; and in-laws, John and Emily Lange, Virginia and Earl Covey and Mildred Lange. Mr. Brucker's funeral service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 4:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 2-4. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the West Schuyler Cemetery. Those so wishing may make a donation to a in George's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice for all the loving care and compassion shown to them and George.
