Helen had a deep faith in God that carried her through many joys and sorrows in her life. In particular, she was a devoted parishioner to the St Anne's Parish in Whitesboro, NY, for over 35 years. She is survived by three sons and their families, Robert and Betty Carlson, Richard and Linda Carlson, and Ron and Nancy Carlson; two daughters and their families, Elizabeth Nolan and fiance, Joseph Cosentino, and Eileen and Brian Phillips; 26 grandchildren, Joy, Renee, Jennifer, Kelly, Christine, Janel, Rick, Kristen, Amanda, Jeff, Denise, David, Michele, Kate, Daniel, Sarah, Steven, Douglas, David, Mike, Wendy, Kevin, Austin, Noah, Logan and Tristan; 40+ great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Vaeth. In addition to her husband, Richard, she was predeceased by a son, Randall Carlson, in 1985; a daughter, Ellen Anne Homka, in 1996; a son-in-law, Jack Nolan, in 1994; and a brother, Bill Vaeth, in 2005. Helen's family would like to offer their special thanks to the staff of Park Terrace, Baldwinsville, and St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, for their excellent care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro.
