Josephine was born in Utica on March 5, 1924, the daughter of the late Martin and Lucy (Perretta) DiCuffo. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate with high honors of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1942. On June 24, 1944, she married her Prince, Peter B. Marasco, with whom she shared 39 years in an amazing and fantastic union prior to his passing on January 2, 1984. Josephine was employed by the Utica City School District where she held a position in the office at J.F. Kennedy High School, retiring in 1985. She was a caring and loving woman who held a nurturing heart and put the needs of others before her own. She was an outstanding mother, best friend to her daughter, and the source of her familys happiness. She was fond of cooking, entertaining, traveling, leopard attire, and she was magnificent at sewing and sharing her creations with family and friends. She was a faithful communicant of St. Marks Church. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Dolores P. Salerno, with whom she resided; her sister, Delphine Marchese, of Utica; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who lovingly referred to her as their Aunt Pina; great-great-nieces and nephew; and many special friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary DiCuffo; and her son-in-law, Vincent Salerno. The family is grateful to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center for their loving care and compassion.
