Marilyn Hartmann Gilroy
Clinton
Marilyn Hartmann Gilroy, of Clinton and formerly of New Hartford and Naples, FL, died November 19, 2010, at the Siegenthaler Center. She was born March 4, 1930, in Utica, daughter of the late J. Arthur and Mary Barnes. She attended St. Francis De Sales School in Utica and was a graduate of Oneonta State College. Marilyn married Thomas Hartmann June 21, 1952; he died in January of 1984. In 1987, she married Bernard Gilroy who died March 25, 1992. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Marilyn is survived by six children, Suzanne (Stephen) Harmon, Steven (Nancy) Hartmann and Ann (Vincent) Salatino, all of New Hartford, Laurie (Robert) Kroeger, of Bedford, NH, Liz (Mark) Scraba, of Stuttgart, Germany, and Sarah (William) DeLaney, of West Chester, PA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, one greatgranddaughter and a sister, Carolyn Campion, of Utica. She was predeceased by two brothers, David and William Barne. The family wishes to thank the staff at Clare Bridge Village of Clinton and Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford for all of the care given to Marilyn. The funeral will be on Monday at 9:00 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, and at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Bernards Cemetery, Waterville. Calling hours are on Sunday (today) from 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413.
