Mary Lou Proni Davis
Mary Lou Proni Davis, 48, of Newport and formerly of Utica, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 1, 2013, in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with her loving family by her side, following a long illness. She was born on August 28, 1964, in Utica, the daughter of Mary Lesjka Proni and the late William Proni, Sr., and attended Utica Free Academy. On April 4, 1993, Mary Lou married Charles G. Davis in Whitesboro. At one point, she was employed with Carbone, Inc., Yorkville. She was a communicant of Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. Mary Lou had deep compassionate love for all of her family and had great pride in taking care of her home. She enjoyed having animals around, especially cats, of which Mary Lou had many at home with her. Her family and friends will miss her with all their hearts and will hold her memory fondly forever. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles "Chod"; her mother, Mary Proni, of Utica; her children, Charles Davis, III, of Utica, William and Benny Davis, of Travlers Rest, SC, David Davis, of Utica, and Yvonne Davis, of Troy; her brothers and sister-in-law, William and Marilyn Proni, Jr., and Michael Proni, all of New Hartford; her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Rose and John "Jack" Lynch, of Ilion; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Gerry Davis, of Utica, and Florence Davis Saponaro, of Whitesboro; her nieces and nephews, Dr. Frederick and Terrie Proni, of Hickory, NC, Paul and Marcia Lynch, of Ilion, and Lindsay and Robert Jordan, of New York Mills; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lincoln Lynch, Payton Lynch, Jemma Jordan, Jayla Jordan, Janeva Jordan, Selena Schwartz and her husband, Jose, Tony Saponaro, Heather Davis and Nicole Davis; and several friends and several feline companions. Mary Lou's funeral will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, from Historic Old St. John's Church, John Street, Utica, where her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John A. Buehler, Pastor. In keeping with Mary Lou's wishes, there will be no visitation. The family will be receiving family and friends following the Mass in the vestibule of the church.
