Michael A. Trinkaus, I
Michael Anthony Trinkaus, I, 69, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Mike was born on March 24, 1944, in Utica, the son of Anthony and Lillian (Mitchell) Trinkaus. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Niagara University. Mike worked at the family restaurant, Trinkaus Manor, for most of his career and later was employed with Ace Taxi.
Mike was an avid golfer and loyal fan of Notre Dame football, the NY Yankees and the Cleveland Browns.
Surviving are his eight children, Sean Trinkaus, Syracuse, Jeffrey Trinkaus, Ohio, Marnie (William) Williams, Utica, Michael, II (Alethea), Connecticut, Marc Trinkaus, Utica, Anthony Trinkaus, Utica, Timothy Trinkaus, Rome, and Matthew (Michele) Trinkaus, New Hartford; nine grandchildren, Anika, Liam, Meaghan, Billy, Matt, Isabel, Caroline, Owen and Olive; three sisters, Diane (Jeanne) MacDonald Trinkaus, Bloomingburg, NY, Maureen (Seamus) Dorrian and Mary Margaret (Bob) Balfe, all of Oriskany; and aunt and uncle, Andrew and Anne Trinkaus. Mike also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins and former, wife, Sandy. He was predeceased by his former wife, Christine.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Nunn & McGrath Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Historic Old St. John's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
