Robert Streichert Obituary

Robert L. Streichert
Utica
Mr. Robert L. Streichert, age 73, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, in the comfort of his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with his beloved family at his side. He was born on March 4, 1938 in Manhattan, NY, a son of the late Helmuth and Edna Chism Streichert, and was of the Native American-Cherokee and German decent. He was joined in marriage to his beloved wife, Judith Tripp, in 1956, a blessed union of 55 years. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War conflict. He was employed as a Machinist for over 40 years at Manth and Brownell Corp., until his retirement. Robert was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He also took great pleasure watching the boats travel along the canal with his wife, Judy. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Surviving are his beloved wife, Judith; five daughters, Christine DeJoseph and John Demko, of Deerfield, Cynthia Skinner, of Coldbrook, NY, Marjorie Przybyla, of Utica, Tammy Streichert, of Utica, and Jacqueline Streichert-Mulvihill, of New Hartford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Rita Palmer, of NJ, Thomas and Nancy Streichert, of Utica, and Michael and Melissa Streichert, of Marcy; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Collins-Vickers, of Norwich, NY; one brother, Donald Streichert, of SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Streichert; and two brothers, George and Richard Streichert. There will be no public visiting hours. His funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. I was very sad to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great machinist and a good friend. Bob was very motivational and very relational, he was well known by everyone. I can imagine some of your loss because I know the loss of his presence that we felt when he retired. I pray that God will comfort you and I am glad to have know him.
