Roger A. Cota, age 71, passed away on May 18, 2012, at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, New York. Roger was born on February 9, 1941, in Canton, NY, to Milton and Mildred Cota. He graduated from Canton High School and Syracuse University. He was a Minister in the Methodist Church and UCC, and later taught English at Sauquoit Valley High School, where he directed several senior plays. He became active in the rabbit-breeding community and founded the Mohawk Valley RCBA. He was a member of many rabbit clubs, served as a district director for the American Rabbit Breeders Association, and traveled widely to attend and judge at conventions and shows. In recent years, he was an active member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Utica, NY. Roger is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mai Cota, of Ithaca; sister, Hilda Wallace, of Watertown; and four nephews, Robert, Michael, Donald and Roger. A service in celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Asbury Methodist Church, 932 Rutger Street, Utica, NY. His remains will be interred at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton, NY, next to those of his son, Jeff.
