Rosemary Marriott
Mrs. Rosemary (Laterza) Marriott, age 83, passed away with her loving son by her side on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Presbyterian Home for Central NY, Inc. Rosemary was born in Utica on November 19, 1928, the daughter of the late Peter and Annina (Salvati) Laterza. She was raised and educated in Utica. On February 19, 1948 she married Mark B. "Bud" Marriott who passed away on December 16, 2008; the couple shared 60 years of their lives in a union founded on honesty, respect, and support. Rosemary always went above and beyond in caring for her beloved Bud and his needs. Rosemary was a loving mother, and a devoted and loyal friend. She was a steadfast provider and meticulous in caring for her home. She made many sacrifices for the well-being of her family, a reflection of her determined, giving nature even though adversity stood in her way. Not only did she provide for her loved ones, but also welcomed friends and neighbors with grace and hospitality. Rosemary loved music and her family has fond memories of her beautiful singing voice especially while she stood by the stove preparing her wonderful meals. She especially enjoyed the old Italian songs and was proud of her Italian heritage. She loved East Utica and her beloved home on Catherine Street where she resided for most of her life. She lived a sincere and simple life as wife, mother, friend and a servant of God. Rosemary is survived by her son, Mark "Peter" Marriott and his wife Janet Tinelli of Sauquoit. She will now be reunited with her beloved son and daughter-in-law, David B. and his wife Kristine (Cittadino) Marriott who preceded her in death. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Julie DeRoller, Andrea Marriott, David Marriott, Anthony Lupino, and John Lupino; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Addison, John Jr., Rocco, and Talia Janae; many nieces and nephews including Peter, Anne, Joseph Jr. and their families; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, John Marriott, Charles Marriott, William Marriott, Bruce Marriott, and their wives. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph A., Sr. and Dorothy J. Laterza. The family is grateful to the staff of the Cedar Wing at the Presbyterian Home of Central NY for their care, compassion, and friendship. Rosemary and her son were comforted by the love that they shared with the Monterose, Nicotera, and Constantine families throughout her stay at the Presbyterian Home. The family will honor Rosemary's life in a private Memorial gathering. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the Palliative Care Program at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, Inc. The Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. is providing the guidance in lighting the path for the Marriott family in commemorating Rosemary's life. Online tributes at:
