Stanley L. Morris, 92, of Cedarville, passed away January 4, 2014, at Sitrin Health Care. Stanley was born September 13, 1921, in Litchfield, NY, the son of Leslie and Pearl Lewis Morris. He married Catherine Nolan in 1947. She died in 2002, after 55 years of marriage. Mr. Morris was a longtime cattle dealer and farmer. He was well known at area auction barns, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. Stanley was a member of the Joseph Berberick Hose Co., Cedarville, since 1940. He was also a member of the Millers Mills Grange. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Ronald Casler, Cedarville; grandchildren, Scott Dietz and Diane Carolla, East Sandwich, MA; Steven Dietz, Litchfield; Shawn Dietz and fiancee Katherine Warner, Richfield Springs; and Shane Dietz and wife Mary, New York Mills; five great-grandchildren, Savannah, JayDon, and Gabriella Dietz, New York Mills; and Tyler and Jordan Dietz, Litchfield; sister, Juanita Landphere, Wildwood, FL; sister-in-law, Joan Nolan, at Sitrin Health Care, New Hartford; brother-in-law, Walter Johnson, Caledonia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Wendell Morris; brothers-in-law, M. James Nolan, and Royce Landphere; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Johnson, Patricia Morris, and Vera Nolan. Services will be Wednesday, 3:00 p.m., at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 365 West Main Street, West Winfield. Calling hours are Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Spring interment will be in Cedarville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Joseph Berberick Hose Co., Cedarville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
