Frederick Wayne Cieri, Sr.
Frederick Wayne Cieri, Sr., 66, of 1423 Burgess Rd., died Friday, February 12, 2010, at his home. Fred was born February 7, 1944, in Yorkville, the son of John Benjamin and Eunice Shaul Cieri. He was a graduate of Chadwicks High School in Chadwicks. He received several athletic awards in baseball, basketball and soccer. He attended Mohawk Valley Community College, studying drafting and design. He had a career in mechanical design, where he worked contract positions. He took a break from his design career to operate his own construction and remodeling business from 1972 to 1985. He then returned to the contract design field at Mobil Chemical, Welch Allyn, and Magnetic Systems. He ended his career at TRW in Union Springs, after they closed. He devoted his life taking care of his wife, children and grandchildren. He coached his boys in baseball for the Waterloo Little League Program. He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn D. Puleo Cieri, whom he married February 1, 1964; three sons, Patrick W. Cieri, Miami, FL, Erick J. (Michelle) Cieri, Waterloo, and Frederick W., Jr. (Darlene) Cieri, Waterloo; two daughters, Tammy J. Nixon, Harrisburg, VA, and Brittany A. Cieri, Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Shane Cieri, Sarah Davis, Caitlin Cieri, Kyle Cieri, Kevin Nixon, Jr., Drew Cieri, Erica Cieri, Ricky Cieri, Ryan Nixon and Joshie Andrews; two brothers, Donald (Ruth) Cieri, Yorkville, and Jack (Sue) Cieri, Westmoreland; four sisters, Jean Hunt, New Hartford, Anita Martin, Herkimer, Dorrine Bergjans, St. Louis, MO, and Lillian Bauman, NJ; cousins; many nieces and nephews; and three sisters-in-law, Linda (George) George, NC, Paulette (John) Payne, New Hartford, and Diane (Don) Sprague, Chadwicks. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 West Main St., Waterloo. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17, at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorial contributions may be given to the organization of one's choice.
