William A. Scheri

Obituary Condolences

William A.
Mr. William A. "Billy" Scheri, age 70, a native Utican, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. He was blessed to have his family journey with him during his illness. Born in Port Jefferson, Long Island, on September 13, 1943, he was the son of Marguerite J. (Kessler) Scheri and the late Anthony R. Scheri. Billy pursued his vocational studies at the Utica School of Beauty Culture and the Europa School of Cosmetology in Schenectady, as hairstyling was his passion. He also served as an Events Coordinator for the Chancellor Apartments, a position in which he excelled because he was blessed with the ability to make an ordinary day fun-filled and memorable. Billy was soft natured and gentle with a positive outlook on life. Visiting his family in Florida was very special to him, and he treasured his time with his family in Utica. Most importantly, he was comfortable with himself and his vision of happiness. Billy is survived by his ultimate caregiver and cherished mother, Marge; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne Scheri, Pamela and Vito Marrone, Toni Scheri, Donna and Albert Rivera; brothers, Frank Scheri and John Scheri, all of Florida; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and the family canine, "Bambi". The family is grateful to his cousin, Dr. David Dowe, for his professional guidance, Dr. Sultana Razia, Dr. Rahul Seth at Upstate Medical Center, and Dr. Thomas Teufel of Florida Cancer Specialists. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 10:00 at Historic Old St. John's Church officiated by Rev. Abe Esper. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. Memorial contributions may be considered to the ; envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Online tributes at: www.EannaceFuneralHome.com
