Mildred Trojnar, 95, a lifelong New York Mills resident, died on Friday, November 25, 2011, at the Eastern Star Home. She was born in New York Mills on September 20, 1916, the daughter of Roman and Sophie Gwiazda Stanek, and attended local schools. In1936, she married Benny F. Trojnar in Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church in New York Mills. He died on January 26, 1955. Mildred retired from the General Electric Co. after 25 years of employment. She was a former member of the Whitestown Seniors. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus/Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, New York Mills. Her survivors include her son and his wife, Benny and Patricia Trojnar, of Whitesboro; a granddaughter, Jacqueline and her husband, Paul LaRock, of TN; and a grandson, Andrew and his wife, Renee Trojnar, of Frankfort. Also included are four great-grandchildren, John and Drew Trojnar, and Nathan and Paige LaRock; and several nieces and a nephew. Mildred was predeceased by her three sisters, Julia, Helen and Bertha; and a brother, Frank. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial to take place in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in New Hartford. The family of Mildred would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Eastern Star Home for the excellent care she received.
