NEW HARTFORD - Ada B. Alfred, 96, passed away on August 25, 2013, at the Presbyterian Home.
She was born on February 7, 1917, in Clyde, N.Y., to the late Daniel and Ruberta Waldorf Pultz, and received her education in Port Byron schools.
On December 4, 1934, Ada and Floyd W. Alfred were united in marriage in Utica, a loving union of 59 years until his death on March 27, 1994.
Ada was a loving wife and mother who, instead of working outside the home, dedicated her time to the raising of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Dastoli, of Lake Geneva, WI; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Betty Alfred, of Utica, and Alan and Joanne Alfred, of New Hartford; her sisters, Vada Bullock, of FL, and June Seamons, of Port Byron, NY; her seven grandchildren, Suzanne and Randy LaFave, Stephen Alfred, Robert Alfred, Christine Brooks, Eric Alfred, Dean and Connie Dastoli and Debra Reiger; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Laura Rosecrans; her brothers, Glenn, Raymond, Kenneth and Gilbert Pultz; and her son-in-law, Frank Dastoli.
Calling hours will be today from 5-7 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit.
Graveside services will be Wednesday morning at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Port Byron, NY.
Her family would like to thank the Presbyterian Home, especially the Maple Wing staff, for the outstanding care Ada received during her stay there.
