Bradley "Brad" S. Margolis, 56, of Clinton, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY, following a long illness. Brad was born on June 13, 1957, in New Hartford, the son of Arthur G. Margolis and the late Beverly Sherman Margolis. He was a graduate of New Hartford High School, Hartwick College, class of '79 with his BA, and New England School of Law, class of 82 with his JD. Brad was admitted to the NYS Bar in 1982. He has been a lifelong resident of this area. He established his firm, Brad S. Margolis, Esq., Attorney at Law, Utica, and has been an upstanding member of his community for many years. Brad was a member of Temple Emanu-El, Utica. He was a member of the American Bar Association, NYS Bar Association, National Child Support Enforcement Association and National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Brad is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Hastwell, of Boonville; his father, Dr. Arthur G. Margolis, of Sarasota, FL; and his sister, Barbara Margolis and her spouse, Colleen Gregory, PhD, of Wakefield, RI. His funeral will be held 1:30 p.m., Sunday (today), March 9, 2014, from Temple Emanu-El, 2710 Genesee Street, Utica. Interment will be made in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Wood Road, Whitesboro, where he will be laid to rest with his mother. Shiva will be observed by the family in Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations, in Brad's memory, be offered to the of Central New York, 731 James St., Ste. 200, Syracuse, NY 13203-2040.
