In the late 60's in an end-ofo-year homily, Fr. Sewall told us that the way to judge the value of the year is "How many more people do I love now than I did last year." Let us remember the good that this man did.

To father's family. As a graduate of UCA I always respected father for his guidance and leadership as our principal. I have only fond memories of my time in school. I had the opportunity to see him only one more time post graduating and he remained the kind soul I always remembered him as. May he rest in peace.

Father Sewall, You will always hold a special place in my heart for all the love, and compassion you showed to both my father and our family during his finally months. I very much enjoyed working for you at the rectory during your time at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. It meant the world to me that you made a special trip back to Utica to officiate at my wedding. Rest In Peace.

Charlie was the gifted speaker of our class and gave a wonderful talk at our 25th Anniversary. I hope to renew our friendship when the Lord calls me home.

A tender & generous soul is now in eternal peace. What a gift Father was to our family when he walked the South Utica neighborhood, spending time with anyone he met and always leaving a sense of God's love with us. His genuine concern for the elderly of his parish is a legacy and challenge for today's clergy to follow. My thanks to his family for sharing him with us.

Father Sewall helped me discern my vocation when considering being a priest. He was a great eulogist and an inspiration from the pulpit. And his eulogy of our dad, the late Senator Donovan, was remarkable. He called dad A Man for All Seasons. Father thanks for all you have done for us. Jim Donovan

Dear Father Sewall - I was so saddened when I read of your death in the Utica newspaper today. For so many years I have wanted to communicate with you to let you know how much esteem I had for you but I didn't know where to find you. I have never forgotten how wonderful you were to my parents in their last years of life. For all the love and caring you gave them I will be forever grateful! It is emotional for me that you died on July 11 th, the same date my mother died. Be assured I will never forget you and will always hold your memory deep in my heart. I always think of you when I hear the song "You'll Never Walk Alone" from "Carousel" and the special meaning it held for you and your mother. May you forever rest in peace.
