WHITESBORO - Joan E. Ward, 78, entered into eternal life on September 7, 2018.
She was born on January 8, 1940, in Ilion, NY, to William and Evelyn (Withers) Hall. She received her education from the Frankfort School District, graduating in 1958. Joan married Robert Ward in 1960 and received her LPN license that same year. She was employed by St. Luke's Hospital and Genesee Nursing Home for 30+ years until she retired in 2000.
She (Granny) is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ward (Robert Brewer), of Whitesboro; her son, William, of Utica; and her beloved grandchildren, Amanda (Scott) Caille, of Raeford, NC, Nicole (David) Henkle, of Utica, William Ward, Jr., of Utica, Craig Brewer, of Fayetteville, NC, Blaine Jones, of Verona, and Brent (Marissa) Jones, of Cape Coral, FL. Joan enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Seth, William, Kayla, Aaden, Kevyn, Zachary, Karrissa, Brent, Jr., and Mia; her siblings, Jewell Kent, of Remsen, Lucy Cooper, Ila Cooper, Jake (Martha) Cooper and Peter (Sharon) Cooper, all of Frankfort, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in life by her husband, Bobby; her daughter, Cynthia; her twin sister, Joanne; and her parents.
We would like to extend our special thanks and prayers to Jenn and Nikki for all of the help they provided over the years. The family would also like to thank the entire Dialysis team at St. Luke's Home for their care, with special thanks to Tina, Erin, Christina and Dr. Eldridge and his staff.
Calling hours will be held at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., in Whitesboro, on Tuesday, September 11th, from 4-7 PM, with the Celebration of Life Ceremony on Wednesday, September 12th, at 10 AM, also at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the or the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
