WARD, ALLEN BLAND September 24th, 1935 to January 6th, 2013 Allen B. Ward passed away at home after a brief illness on Sunday, January 6th, 2013. He was predeceased by two sisters, Donna Cantrall and Patricia Warren. Allen is survived by nephews Eric, Bruce, and Brent Warren, his beloved cousin Beverly Moulton of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and many other close family members. Allen was born on September 24th, 1935, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Wilburn and Gladys Ward. He grew up in nearby Keno, Oregon. He graduated from Henley High School in Klamath Falls in 1953. After attending the University of Oregon, he enlisted in the Army
and served during the Korean War
. Allen lived many years in Crescent City, California, where he survived the 1964 tsunami that destroyed much of the town. In the early 1980s, he moved to San Diego to work with his beloved sister Patricia in her tax preparation business. Allen was an avid traveler, enjoying cruises and trips to Hawaii and international destinations. He was a passionate and devoted supporter of the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Another favorite activity were his annual appearances as Santa Claus, where he delighted hundreds of children over the years. Future services are to be determined by family.
