MIRABILE, ANTONINA (NINA) Oct. 12, 1920 to February 7, 2013 Born October 12, 1920 in Los Angeles of Italian immigrants, Joe and Josephine Raneri Mirabile. She graduated from Los Angeles City College, Chouinard Art Institute and San Diego State. Her majors were art, education and counseling. Nina's career brought her to Mar Vista High School where she taught and provided student counseling for most of her tenure. She retired after 40 years. Nina's passion was her art. Her work consisted of oil and watercolor venues. Her paintings were considered exceptional. She demonstrated an outstanding flair for fashion and enjoyed searching for unique articles accenting her culture. Nina was fond of travel, especially to Sicily. Nina was predeceased by her parents and nephew, Frank Balistrieri (Diane). She is survived by her sisters, Josephine Dia, and Maria Hayes (Donald), nephews Joe Balistrieri (Linda) and Anthony Balistrieri. Funeral arrangements have been made at El Camino Mortuary on Saturday, February 16th. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. with the ceremony at 10 a.m. A reception will follow.
