Arthur taught English at Lincoln High School from 1964 through 1968, and continued his teaching career at Patrick Henry High School until his retirement in 1990, after which time he continued to teach informally through every conversation he had. Arthur taught his students much more than English. He taught them to navigate life. He challenged their view of the world and of the written word, and showed them that paths are best travelled honorably and with humor. Arthur is survived by his three daughters, Hilary Schor, Barbara Schor and Renée Schor, by his son-in-law Benjamin Boyd and by his granddaughter, Dora Pierce. He will be sorely missed.
