ELMER L. STOOPS

iconSTOOPS, ELMER L. Elmer L. Stoops, born December 17, 1919, died quietly in the presence of his family on November 17, 2012. He married his sweetheart, Erma Wilson, while at Oklahoma A&M College. During World War II, he spent 26 months in the Pacific as 1st Lt. of the 769th Dumptruck Co. and 76th Construction Battalion. He and Erma had one daughter, Linda. In 1950 they moved to California, and was chief of the Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning Inspection Division for the City of San Diego for over 20 years. After retirement, Elmer and Erma traveled extensively in their 5th wheel trailer. He enjoyed the desert and his plumerias. He loved God, his country, family and was a devoted husband and father. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held at Bailey Center at Mount Miguel Covenant Village, Friday November 23rd at 2:30 p.m. A military interrment service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Bible Mausoleum, December 18th at 2 p.m.
