Cox Jr., George Lewis OCEANSIDE -- George L. Cox, Jr. passed away on July 16, 2013. He was born on June 6, 1943 in Paris, Texas, the first son of George Sr. and Inez Cox. Being an "oil field brat," he grew up in West Texas, Venezuela and Florida. He earned his Bachelor's degree from North Texas State University and his Master's degree from the University of California, Davis. After working with the Peace Corps for a year in India, George began his thirty-plus year career as a Spanish- speaking clinical school psychologist in the San Bernardino County School District. He truly loved "his" school children and worked tirelessly to help them. To George, life was an adventure to be embraced with joy, cheerfulness and outstanding good humor. After he retired, he kept very busy golfing around the world and cruising, as well as playing golf and poker with his buddies at home. Survivors include his devoted wife, Emily (Morones) Cox; his brother, Jere Cox of Granbury, Texas; two sons, Arturo and Lonny; daughter, Ginger; and nine grandchildren.
