SHENAS, GEORGE P. November 19, 1935 to December 15, 2012 George Shenas, a leading San Diego attorney, passed away in Rancho Mirage, CA on the evening of December 15, 2012. Born in El Centro, George received his B.A. from UCLA
, and went on to graduate from the UCLA School of Law in 1961. Engaged in the practice of corporate, securities, partnership and real estate law, his practice involved the representation of businesses and business executives covering a broad range of industries. George was more than an attorney to his clients, many of whom became his close friends over the years. Outside of his practice, George gave freely of his time and energy to many organizations. He was the founder and first chairman of the Corporate Finance Council of San Diego, chaired the Business Law Section and Continuing Education of the Bar Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association, and served as a member of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California. An active member of the San Diego community, he served as the President and Chairman of the San Diego Hall of Champions and as Vice President of The Bishop's School Board of Trustees. George was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. He shared his passion for sports with his nephews and grand-nephews, introducing them to football and tennis. George was a devoted and loving husband of 52 years, and took great pride in his daughters. He will be remembered for his hearty laugh, his generous spirit, and his love of life. He is survived by his wife Sally, daughters Stephanie and Stacey, brother Peter Shenas, sister Anita Taylor, a loving extended family and numerous close friends and associates. The family held a small private service. George will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
